Borja is a Managing Partner of Phoenician Resources and a member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to founding Phoenician, Borja was a director of ZBI Ventures (“ZBIV”), the energy-focused private equity arm of Ziff Brothers Investments.

For over four years at ZBIV, Borja sourced, reviewed, and executed oil and gas exploration and production investments and oversaw portfolio companies. Borja also helped develop ZBIV’s investment strategy and recruited, managed, and trained the deal execution team.

Prior to joining ZBIV in 2008, Borja was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, the global consultancy, in the New York office, where he was a member of the Corporate Finance, the Global Energy and Materials and the Electric Power & Natural Gas Practices.

Borja started his career in the Investment Banking Division of Salomon Smith Barney. He received a B.S. from CUNEF in Madrid and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
